As Process Improvement Coordinator, Samantha Solmonson assists with Integrity Health Network's Quality Improvement (QI) efforts by analyzing data from its Minnesota Community Measurement project, Accountable Care Organization, and Total Cost of Care initiative. She is responsible for identifying QI challenges in clinics and developing processes to overcome those challenges.

This year, Sam was recipient of the Labovitz School of Business 2016 Distinguished Alumni Award. A 2014 graduate of the school at UMD, Sam majored in Healthcare Management, interning at IHN. Today she is the only Healthcare Management alum to serve on the program's advisory board.

Samantha is from Springfield, a small farm town in southwest Minnesota. Although the drive home can be tiring, she enjoys making the trip to visit friends and family. She loves Duluth because even though it is a fairly big city, it still has the feel of a rural town. She also loves all of the different parks around the Duluth area, and, of course, Lake Superior.

While attending UMD, Samantha had the opportunity to study abroad in Thailand, where she learned about Thai families, healthcare and Buddhism. This experience sparked her love for traveling. She hopes to travel to Ireland and South Korea in her future.
